Can I arrange an early check-in?
Early check-in can be added to your reservation at an additional cost, subject to availability. The Reservations Team can check availability and advise the earliest available check in time. If you would just like to drop off your bags and explore the area, we can store your luggage until you return to the hotel.
Can I arrange a late check-out?
Late check-out can be added to your reservation at an additional cost, subject to availability If you wish to check out later than 3pm, a full night's charge will be applied.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation is subject to terms and conditions of the accommodation package reserved. In general, room bookings can be cancelled up to 3pm two days prior to arrival. Lodge bookings can be cancelled up to 4pm seven days prior to arrival. This does not apply to non-refundable, non-transferable bookings and any bookings made via a third-party site.
How do I make a group reservation?

Can you provide a Travel Cot / Camp Bed
We don’t provide travel cots or camp beds, but guests are welcome to bring their own if they wish.
What if I left something behind at the hotel?
If you think you’ve left something behind, don’t worry, all lost and found items are logged by our team. We’ll be happy to help you locate your belongings. You can collect your item directly from the hotel, or we can post it to you. To arrange postage, please visit the An Post website and send us a pre-paid shipping label.
What public transport options are available to the hotel?
The only public transport option directly available to the hotel is by taxi. The nearest bus station is located in Tipperary Town, approximately 7 km away, and the closest train station is Limerick Junction, about 12 km from the hotel.
Does the hotel offer parking facilities?
We offer complimentary parking to all of our guests; pre-booking is not required.
Does the hotel offer family or interconnecting rooms?
Our Twin Room can accommodate up to three guests, featuring one double bed and one single bed. We also offer interconnecting rooms, which connect two double rooms to provide two double beds in total. To book an interconnecting room, please contact our Reservations Team directly at 062 56153 or reservations@aherlowhouse.ie. Kindly note that interconnecting rooms are charged as two separate rooms.
Does the hotel have Wheelchair Accessible Rooms?
We regret that at this time we do not have wheelchair-accessible rooms in the hotel due to the absence of a lift. However, our lodges do feature a bedroom on the ground floor, which may be suitable for some guests. Additionally, we have one room that has been modified to include a wet room style bathroom for guests with mobility difficulties. Please note, this room can only be accessed via one flight of stairs.
Does the hotel have a lift?
Unfortunately, we do not currently have a lift. All of our hotel rooms are located on the first or second floor. Our team is always happy to assist with luggage, so please don’t hesitate to ask if you need a hand!
What are the breakfast times?
Our breakfast is served from 8am-10am.
Is the hotel pet-friendly?
Our hotel is not pet-friendly; however, we do offer pet-friendly lodges. To book one, please contact our Reservations Team directly at 062 56153 or reservations@aherlowhouse.ie

Is smoking/vaping allowed on the property?
No, the hotel is a non-smoking and non-vaping property. A €200 fine applies for any breaches of this policy.
Do the rooms have a mountain view?
While not all rooms offer a mountain view, we’re happy to note special requests when booking and will do our best to accommodate them. Please understand that we cannot guarantee a mountain view for every room, but we’ll always try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
What facilities are provided in the lodges?
Our lodges are three-bedroom houses, featuring two rooms with double beds (one of which is on the ground floor) and one room with two single beds, all with ensuite bathrooms. Each lodge includes a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living and dining area, complete with a DVD player for relaxing evenings. Guests can also enjoy the decking area and upstairs balcony, both offering stunning mountain views.
Towels and linens are provided. Please note that firewood and food supplies are not included.
Is there a minimum stay requirement for the lodges?
Yes, our lodges require a minimum stay of two nights.
Is breakfast included in the lodges?
No, the lodges are self-catering. However, guests have the option to join breakfast at the hotel for €15 per adult and €7.50 per child.
Does the hotel open year round?
Yes, we are open year-round. However, from November to March, the main hotel is closed from 8pm on Sundays until 1pm on Wednesdays, meaning there is a full closure on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our self-catering lodges remain open during this period.
Does the hotel open for Christmas?
Our hotel is closed over the Christmas period and usually re-opens on the 27th of December. For our exact opening hours, please contact us directly. Our self-catering lodges remain open throughout the Christmas season.
Can I book a table in the bar?
Our Hunting Lodge Bistro Bar operates on a walk-in basis only, we do not take individual bookings.
For groups of over 10 guests, you can reserve our Tree Top Event Space, which offers a set menu.
